About the Role: As part of our ongoing growth in the Italian Project & Cost Management team, Cumming Group is seeking a forward-thinking Assistant Quantity Surveyor in Venice with expertise in the hotel and hospitality sectors. You will play a key role in expanding our Italian portfolio, with a particular focus on the refurbishment and rePosizioneing of existing hotels and the development new build hotel properties. We are interested in candidates who are passionate about the hospitality industry, have an entrepreneurial mindset, and possess a strong track record of project delivery. The role of a Assistant Quantity Surveyor Includes the following responsibilities: Provide cost management services through pre and post contract process To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards Assist and drive forward the preparation of cost plans; including measurement Support with Value engineering studies and analysis Work with senior members of staff to gather market testing data of key elements for the developments Support and assist the data analysis on design efficiencies, benchmark comparison Prepare and assist with the preparing and issuing tender documents, evaluations, contract documentations and reports Prepare and assist with the scrutinising and verifying applications for interim payments Prepare and assist with the management of change control in accordance with contracts Prepare and assist with the production of cost reports and cost forecasting Advising and liaising with internal project and cost control team Key Attributes: Degree qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline Working towards Chartered status Ideally a minimum of 2+ years' experience of working in the Hospitality industry A team player, outgoing, flexible, enthusiastic and ambitious Likeable and warm personality which will fit in and become an integral part of the team A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines Hospitality or real estate background Cumming Europe Ltd provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, colour, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
