We are looking for 3 full-time Japanese Ramen Cooks who are sincere, enthstic, and with a sufficient understanding of Japanese cuisine to join the team in Auckland.

Basic Requirements:

  • 2 years relevant experience or a level 4 - 6 qualification in hospitality or cookery, or a Bachelor qualification in any field.
  • Be fit enough to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
  • Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime.
  • Must be flexible to work lunch and dinner shifts and be able to manage two shifts in a day.
  • Full commitment is required.
  • Be reliable, responsible and punctual.
  • Working hard and healthy.
  • Be able to pass a police check.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparing fresh ingredients for Japanese ramen and other dishes.
  • Ensuring all restaurant Japanese cuisine recipes and preparation requirements are met.
  • Controlling the temperatures, seasonings and flavours are to specification.
  • Ensuring the quality of food and the size of food proportions.
  • Ensures that all food is attractively presented at all times.
  • Prepares and cook Japanese food to meet special dietary requirements.
  • Ensuring the storage of foods and others meet restaurant and statutory Health and Safety requirements.
  • Updating and developing new cooking techniques and procedures in accordance with the new menu.
  • Maintaining a strict level of hygiene in the kitchen workstations.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities related to the job may be assigned as required.

In return, MMR Takapuna can offer you

  • $25 - $30 per hour depending your skills and competency.
  • Guarantee of 35 hour per week, maximum to 50 hours per week.
