Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

Our Te Ako o Te Tui Early Childhood Centre welcomes qualified and NZ registered Early Childhood Kaiako to join our passionate and supportive teaching whānau.

Te Ako o Te Tui is a new purpose-built centre which offers a modern open plan design, which is filled by natural light. Its Grafton Campus location make it a convenient location for many and offers a nurturing environment to our students & staffs, tamariki aged between 3months - school age. Our centre is home to varied group of children and their whanau, who we embrace and celebrate along with their cultural, social and linguistic diversity. Our priority is to create a caring and aesthetic environment where the language, spirituality and culture of all tamariki is respected. We are committed to providing learning and teaching for our future generation that is of high quality, innovative and progressive. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position. Remuneration is from $59,366 to $99,725 per annum, based on pay parity assessment level. Centre hours: 7.30am- 5.30pm For more information, please see the Position Description.

You will be a kind, empathetic and reliable Kaiako, who brings energy and light into our home away from home. You will be focusing your time on our tamariki 2 years +

Were seeking an enthstic kaiako who:

  • Is a New Zealand qualified and registered teacher with natural nurturing qualities and a passion for childrens learning and development.
  • Has experience working across all age groups, with a particular interest in working with our younger tamariki.
  • Is self-motivated, enthstic, and able to apply current ECE theory to practice, with a strong working knowledge of Te Whāriki.
  • Communicates effectively, confidently, and respectfully, building and maintaining strong relationships with whānau, colleagues, and tamariki.
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment that values whakawhanaungatanga (strong relationships and connections).
  • Has a growth mindset - open to reflection, professional learning, and adapting practice to enhance learning outcomes for children.
