Purchasing Supervisor - FMCGTo support the Supply Chain Department in purchasing of goods to the agreed quality standards
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Negotiating & purchasing of the goods for both local and international suppliers in close co-ordination.Ensure contracts are in place for all suppliers of all goods, payment terms and delivery schedules in accordance with the requirementsDevelopment of new suppliers to ensure there are at least 2 alternate sources of supply for each itemSource materials to reduce the cost without affecting the quality in conjunctionMonthly monitoring of costs to ensure they are controlled and within budgetProduce and maintain a supplier price history database to capture and assess the suppliers service, quality and price performanceAssist in annual budgeting and preparation of prices, cash flow, supplier contracts, reduction of demurrage, working capital and potential write offs
Requirements:
Graduate in any discipline or equivalent from a reputed universityAny additional qualification in Supply Chain Management, preferably Purchasing, will be an added advantageAt least 5 years experience in a similar position preferably in a FMCG industryAbility to handle multiple supplier and contracts with a proven track recordProven interpersonal, communication skills, good presentation and reporting skillsComputer literate with detailed practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPointExcellent organisational ability, flexibility, confidentiality and attention to detailExcellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence at Senior LevelCost Optimisation, Value Engineering and cost modelling experience
